Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
Our representative will meet you upon arrival at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Delhi / Overnight train to Pathankot
A day of site seeing in Delhi including Laxmi Narayan Temple, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, India Gate and Red Fort. In the evening you will be taken to the Delhi Railway Station to board an overnight sleeper AC train to Pathankot.
Day 3: Drive to Dharamsala
Reaching Pathankot early in the morning we are met by our vehicle to drive to the hill resort of Dharamsala. Arriving there before lunch, check into your hotel. In the afternoon we will visit Bhagsunag Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Bhagsu waterfall.
Day 4: Drive to Satovari Village / Trek to Kareri Village (2200m)
Drive to Satovari village and start the trek to Kareri village. It is a gradual descent from Satovari village to Barnet village and then a steep descent to Ghera. From Ghera onwards a steep ascent takes us to Kareri village. Kareri village is a Gaddi tribal village surrounded by the natural beauty ofthe spectacular mountains. We camp overnight near the village.
Day 5: Trek to Bal Village (1900m)
An easy walk from Kareri village to Khari Behi, From here it is a steep downhill walk for an hour to Rawa village which is situated on the bank of a small river. After a short rest, it is a steep ascent for 2 hours to Bal village. We camp near a small stream close to the village.
Day 6: Trek to Triund (2875m)
An early start as the mountain trail continues uphill for most of the day. Cross the Bhated River and follow a rough trail which climbs steeply through the forest to Galu Temple. From here the terrain changes to a wide paved maountain path as we continue our gradual uphill climb all the way until we reach Triund. Triund is set on an alpine meadow, high up on a ridge facing snow-capped peaks of Dhauladhar on one side and beautiful Kangra Valley on the other. Overnight stay in Triund campsite.
Day 7: Trek to Laka Got (3500m)
This is one of the most challenging days of the trek. We walk further up to Laka Got which is a temporary shepherd campsite in the summer, situated at the tip of a small glacier. There will be an opportunity to walk on the glacier to reach Lhes Cave. This is quite strenuous but well worth the effort. Lhes Cave is used as an overnight shelter by the shepherds travelling over the mountain with their sheep. We trek back to Triund for the overnight stay.
Day 8: Trek to Dharamsala
The final stretch of our trek in the mountains is the return journey back to Dharamsala, which is downhill. We pass through a beautiful waterfall before finishing our trek at Bhagsunag village near a Hindu Temple. Overnight stay in a hotel in town.
Day 9: Drive to Pathankot / Overnight train to Delhi
The morning is free to explore the traditional and colorful markets. In the afternoon drive to Pathankot Railway Station for an overnight sleeper train back to Delhi.
Day 10: Delhi
Arrive in Delhi early morning for a transfer to the airport or hotel, if you’re staying in Delhi.
