Details of Trek to Kareri Lake
Route : Mcleodganj - Kareri Village - Kareri Lake - Rawa - Mcleodganj

Kareri Lake is best known for being a trekking destination in the Dhauladhar Ranges. The trek takes you through pristine oak, pine and rhododendron forests.

Day 1: Trek to Kareri Village (2200m)
Start 13km trek from Mcleodganj to Kareri village. Kareri village is a Gaddi tribal village surrounded by the natural beauty of the spectacular mountains. The trek passes through beautiful pine forests. Stay overnight in village houses or camping in Harnala campsite.
Day 2: Trek to Kareri Lake (3500m)
A gradual climb along Kareri stream passing through dense forests which will lead to Kareri Lake. Kareri Lake is a shallow fresh water lake surrounded by green meadows, oak and pine trees. Overlooking the lake is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Shakti perched on a hilltop. Overnight stay in Kareri Lake campsite.
Day 3: Trek to Rawa (1600m)
We start our descent to Rawa passing several villages along the way. Rawa is well-known for Himalayan birds and it's beautiful river. Camp overnight by the Rawa River.
Day 4: Trek to Mcleodganj
Descend for 5-6 hours back to Mcleodganj via Bal village.
